Welcome to My Website
Formerly trading for over 45 years as Stephen Alexander french polisher and now trading as A and B Antiques.
I have been polishing and restoring furniture for over fifty years spending my working life restoring and polishing antique and fine quality furniture this included household furniture, interiors, as well assisting in the renovation the Marianne North Gallery at Kew Garden's as well as many other interesting projects. Over the last ten years and more moving into the restoration and selling of antique and vintage quality items all carefully selected items from around the country. At the age of 69 years, it’s time for me to slow down and sell my collection and stock of finely restored pieces.
All pieces being cleaned or repolished depending on the individual item requirements.
All my pieces are restored inside and out most traders only bother with the outside often meaning drawers don't run smoothly as they should. This often spoils the enjoyment of otherwise fine pieces. Example of internal repairs drawer runners and bearers of bureau or chest of drawers bearing in mind these pieces are often over 200 years old and seen a fair bit of use.
I still enjoy working on pieces and take great pride in my work. I simply love wood man's finest renewable natural material.
My furniture is made from the finest timbers which have been felled and no longer available unless you have a very big pocket and even then, extremely difficult to source. My collection is kept in store so generally speaking not available to be viewed at 1 Brick Lane, Fleet, Hants which is used as my office.
