Mahogany Is Not Brown
Mahogany Is Not Brown

The Mahogany Georgian Bureau: an iconic workstation and more it's a Chest of drawers, collectors chest and work surface make the bureau a very special versitile piece.

Georgian bureaus vary tremendously. Some are made with plain wood and simply constructed; while others are embellished with fine exotic woods such as satinwood, rosewood decorated with fancy curls, elaborate exteriors, and interiors that may include secret drawers.

As each bureau ages it develops a unique vibrancy of colour and markings. Each bureau has a distinctive character that has matured over the years.

Best of all, Georgian bureaus remain as functional today as they were the day they were made. As practical workstations they fit the modern environment while also serving as objects of beauty and historical social interest.
